Play is the primary driver for inquiry - The PYP learner in the early years.

Play in a PYP classroom involves choice, promotes agency (having the power to act) and provides opportunities to inquire into important concepts and personal interests. This school year, Mrs. Halvorson's students will explore the the central ideas of 'We have friends at school', 'God created the world and each of us because he loves us', We move our bodies in different ways in different spaces', and 'Exploring books helps us learn about the world'. As you can see in the pictures above, learning in our preschool classroom features play, relationship building, well constructed learning spaces, symbolic exploration and self expression. 8th Grade Learns About GAO

Last week, parent Dawn Locke spoke to the 8th Graders about government accountability and the role of the GAO ( Government Accountability Office). This office serves as a congressional watchdog and provides nonpartisan, objective, fact-based information to Congress. She truly brought government and learning alive for these students and helped all of us present to become more knowledgeable! The students were thrilled to become whistle-blowers!

St. Luke Choir will be singing at the bonfire for the Christmas Ships Wednesday, December 12, 2018 Richmond Beach Saltwater Park 2021 NW 190th Street 7:30 p.m. - Beach Bonfire 8:20 p.m. - Christmas Ship Arrives The Christmas Ship Celebration at the Saltwater Park is a Shoreline tradition! This Pacific Northwest tradition takes place at the Richmond Beach Saltwater Park (2021 NW 90th Street). Since parking is limited, please plan to walk if possible. The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. with music.
