Primary Years Math Program

 

In the PYP math program, students begin to see themselves as mathematicians.  Mathematics supports inquiry and helps students make sense of the world around them.  Flexible math groupings allow students to move between levels of understanding for each unit of study.  Students will receive instruction based on the math standards they are ready to learn.

 

Math pathways - middle year

Math pathways have been developed to ensure that every student is working at a level that is challenging and instructive. Our goal is to ensure that students are ready to take Algebra 1, Geometry, or beyond in grade 9. As students develop their math skills, it is critical to make appropriate and responsible placement decisions to allow future success in mathematics.
