Play is the primary driver for inquiry - The PYP learner in the early years.

December 14, 2018

Play in a PYP classroom involves choice, promotes agency (having the power to act) and provides opportunities to inquire into important concepts and personal interests.

This school year, Mrs. Halvorson's students will explore the the central ideas of 'We have friends at school', 'God created the world and each of us because he loves us', We move our bodies in different ways in different spaces', and 'Exploring books helps us learn about the world'.

As you can see in the pictures above, learning in our preschool classroom features play, relationship building, well constructed learning spaces, symbolic exploration and self expression. Thank you Mrs. Halvorson, Mrs. Cunningham, and Mrs. Short for continuing to surround these learners with such rich opportunities.
