speech team

The St. Luke Speech Team has a long history of developing public speaking skills in a fun, supportive way. The weekly club meetings after school are designed to further develop our goals as a team and provide a forum to learn speech techniques in a fun and supportive environment.

Speech is open to all interested 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Attending the weekly Speech Team meeting after school is mandatory, and setting aside daily practice time outside of school is essential for advancing skills. Speech Team members will be invited to attend at least three speech tournaments, the first of which takes place in November.

Speech Team members are asked to seek out faculty, parents or older friends to listen to them and help out in the coaching process. Having someone else committed to listening and giving feedback several times a week goes far to lead to the success of the program.  Quick link to Coaching Feedback Form

Speech team meets twice weekly in Mrs. Fargo's classroom (Room 208) on Thursdays after school from 3:15 - 4:15
